Sewing instructions | Place part A on part D of the outer fabric, right sides together and sew the shoulder seams together. Press the seams open. 2 x: Lay part B on top of part C from the outer fabric, right sides together and sew the shoulder seams together here too. Press the seams open. Repeat the same for the parts made from the inner fabric. Place the middle section of the outer fabric (A+D) onto the middle section of the inner fabric, right sides facing, and sew the neckline together all the way around. Cut in the seam allowances, turn right side out and press the neckline. Ties Fold the narrow strips of fabric in half, right sides together. Sew the short and long fabric edges together. Turn right side out and iron. Side panel with tie ribbon Place the side pieces (B+C) right sides together and sew the armholes together. Place the binding tape from the inside, directly under the armhole seam. Sew the sides together. Turn right side out and press. Ruffle Fold the ruffle in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, iron and gather. Make sure that the first 2-3 cm remain smooth. This will make it easier to sew the ruffle on later. Pin the ruffle to the middle section (A+D) of the dress. The fold line of the ruffle points towards the neckline. You can first topstitch the ruffle with an auxiliary seam close to the edge. Pin the side piece (B+C) to the middle piece with ruffle (A+D) and sew together. Skirt part Finish the skirt piece. Place the hem on the marking on the inside (right sides facing) and sew on both sides (only the hem height) in the sewing foot width. Turn the hem right side out. Shape the corners with a pencil. Press and topstitch the hem and the side seams. Gather the skirt piece to the width of the front and back pieces. Pin the skirt piece to the outer fabric of the front piece and sew together. The seam automatically folds upwards and "disappears" into the top. Repeat the same at the back. Fold the seam allowances of the inner parts inwards and stitch them in place either by hand or with the sewing machine. We hope you enjoy sewing! |
