The free pattern for this cute little girl's dress is finally online!

We spontaneously christened the dress AVRIL. Avril has a slightly oversized cut and can grow with you for a long time. The gathered kimono sleeves are typical of Avril. The pattern includes long and short sleeves so that you can sew this little piece of cream in different variations all year round. We recommend an elasticated hem for the long sleeves, which not only looks cute - it is also more practical for small children and does not restrict their freedom of movement.

Fabric recommendation	Lightweight cotton fabrics, poplin, muslin, denim, wool or baby corduroy are always a good choice for this cute dress. Of course, you can also sew the dress from stretchy fabrics such as velour or jersey.
Instructions for non-stretch fabrics	Girl's dress tutorial Sew shoulder seams together, overlock, press to the back Button placket at the back Iron on fusible web (H 180). The fusible web pattern is highlighted in gray on the pattern. Neaten the straight edges of the fabric and press the fold line inwards. Neckline slip Reinforce the facing with fleece. Finish the shoulder seams and sew together. Press open. Neaten the outer edge of the facing. Sew the facing to the neckline. Dress front and neckline facing front - mark the center with a pin. First pin and sew the short fabric edges of the facing to the button placket, right sides together. Pin the facing to the neckline, right sides together. Make sure that the shoulder seams and all markings (center front and facing) are on top of each other. Sew. Trim or cut back the seam allowances. Shape the corners of the button placket with a pencil. Iron the facing to the wrong side of the fabric and topstitch from the right side, including the button placket. Sew buttonholes. Ruffle the sleeves The sleeves are gathered to the total length of the front + back. Pin the sleeves to the front and back, right sides facing. Make sure that the first 2-3 cm remain smooth and that the shoulder marking is on the shoulder seam. Sew. Finish the sleeve hem edge. Pin the lower fabric edges of the sleeves, right sides together, sew together and overlock. Press the seam. Press the hem inwards. Topstitch. Version with elasticated cuffs. Elastic band length: 20cm Press the sleeve hem inwards. Leave an opening for the elastic band. Topstitch. Tuck in the elastic. Sew the opening closed. Back section Pin both button plackets together and secure with an auxiliary seam. Skirt part Neaten the short edges of the fabric and the bottom hem edge, pin right sides together, sew and press the seam open. Gather to the width of the top. Pin the ruffled fabric to the dress, right sides facing. The seam of the skirt piece is centered on the button placket. Topstitch to the top and neaten. Press the hem over at the bottom and topstitch. Done :)
Type of fabric	Lightweight cotton fabrics, poplin, voile, batiste or baby corduroy would also be a good choice for this cute little dress. Of course, you can also sew the dress from stretchy fabrics. In this case, simply omit the button placket at the back. You can hem the neckline with a cuff, just like a T-shirt.
